Hotel Hippocampus is in a picturesque location near the sea, which makes for a pleasant stay. The stunning views and proximity to the beach provide a relaxed atmosphere for guests looking for a relaxing holiday.
Unfortunately, there are some negative points regarding the rooms. These are clearly too small and overall look a bit dated. This can lead to a cramped feeling, especially for guests who need more space or are planning longer stays. If spacious rooms are important to you, this could be a limitation.
The bathroom at Hotel Hippocampus could also do with a renovation. It may not be up to date and may show signs of wear. If a modern and well-equipped bathroom is important to you, this is something to consider.
One plus point of the hotel, however, is the friendly and helpful staff. They are available to guests and strive to make their stay as pleasant as possible. Guests can count on good care and support if they have any questions or concerns.
The breakfast offer was not extensive and did not meet our expectations.

Beautiful place. The patio where the breakfast is served is beautiful. The breakfast is copious and delicious. The people that run the hotel are helpful and contributed to make our stay perfect. Rooms are small, and the beds were strangely hard but SO comfortable! (Quite a marvel) The whole place was VERY clean. I hope to go back soon.

I loved staying here! Most importantly is that the owner and staff are all real innkeepers and take pride in their hotel, service, and being of assistance. Everyone was warm and inviting. The hotel itself is lovely and peaceful and felt like a home away from home to me. The plants are beautiful and there’s a lovely courtyard for sitting and eating breakfast. Breakfast is very generous. There’s a rooftop sitting area and balconies for every room. The room fee seemed very reasonable. I thought the stiff bed might be troublesome but I slept deeply in such a peaceful and rooted place. Nightly recommend staying here!

As a family we were welcomed warmly by the owners. We enjoyed the breakfast, especially the fresh eggs. The atmosphere is relaxing. We even got reading material in English and French. The owner was very knowledgeable about the island. Thank you so much.

I’m writing this review during my second stay within three weeks. I was so impressed with the service, value and overall experience of Hotel Hippocampus that I returned for a few more days. Each room has a small balcony with indirect but sweet views over unfinished rooftops of the local area and looking on to the beautiful bay and surrounding islands. There is also a rooftop terrace offering unrestricted views. The breakfast is generous and fresh and everyone I came into contact with was helpful and kind. The owner/manager, Pavlos is obliging and friendly. At this price point Hotel Hippocampus is excellent value. Michelle Francis. August 2022
